Board members John Baranek, John Daugherty, Bob Flower, Bob Megeysi, and Jacinda Warman met Monday, January 12th at Stow City Hall. An update on the Stewart School  project was given by Bob Flower and plans for the upcoming year were discussed.

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees meet Monday, October 10th at 7 p.m. at Stewart School for the monthly board meeting. Present were John Baranek, John Daugherty, Beth Daugherty, Bob Megeysi, and Jacinda Warman. Trustees viewed the recent renovations to the one room schoolhouse and Bob Flower reported on future plans. Treasurer Bob Megeysi gave an updated report on the Harvest Festival. The Board is seeking candidates for board members, to be selected at the November meeting. If interested, please contact Board President John Baranek at 330-688-2852.

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met September 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Stow City Hall. All members present. Items discussed included the improvements to Stewart School, and the upcoming Harvest Festival.  Interior electric and painting for the school are being taken care and should be ready in time for the Harvest Festival. Thank you to Dave Reinhart for volunteering to paint. Also the wheelchair accessible ramp is nearing completion. Plans for the Harvest Festival are underway, with craft demonstrators in each of the historic houses and craft vendors applying for booth spaces. There will be a special exhibit on Silver Lake in the Heritage House this year. Volunteers are still needed to help in the houses and at the sales table. Our next member meeting will be Monday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m. at Stow City Hall. Speakers will be from the Summit County Court of Common Pleas – Probate Division.

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met Monday, June 13th at 7 p.m. at Stow City Hall. All board members and one guest were present. Topics discussed included upcoming programming, square dance, Harvest Festival, and school tours. It was noted that we are in need of reliable volunteers to implement a successful Harvest Festival. We are in need of someone to coordinate parking during the festival. It was proposed that the small barn be cleaned out and unneeded items be sold at the Harvest Festival. If you are interested in coordinating parking or pricing items and running a rummage sale at the Festival, please contact Board President John Baranek at 330-689-2852. All proceeds will benefit the Society. A proposal is also being considered to change the time of year for school tours. These topics will be discussed at the next member meeting.

Members present were John Baranek, John and Beth Daugherty, Bob Megyesi, Houston Morgan, and Jacinda Warman. Matters discussed include upcoming programs, the annual Harvest Festival, and an update on Stewart School.

Board members, John Baranek, John Daugherty, Beth Daugherty, Bob Flower, Bob Megyesi, Houston Morgan, and Jacinda Warman met Monday, January 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Stow City Hall. Bob Megeysi presented the treasurer’s report and Bob Flower presented a report on the Stewart School. Board members voted to donate $4,000 to the Old Schoolhouse fund, bringing the Society’s total donation to $10,000. Donor bricks need to be purchased.

We will be participating in the Stow-Munroe Falls Community Showcase at Stow High School April 2nd and 3rd. John and Beth will be setting up the booth space. Volunteers are needed to sit at our booth and greet attendees.

Future projects under consideration include reroofing and painting the Heritage House Museum, and building of a handicap ramp for the Stewart School.  Groundhogs continue to be a problem around the historic buildings.

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met Monday, June 8th at Stow City Hall. We will be sponsoring a square dance at the Heritage Barn the evening of Wednesday, August 12th , joined by the Circulators Square Dance Club of Ravenna. This should be a fun time for members, guests, and the community. More information will be forthcoming on this event. Board members voted to approve funds for electrical work at the Stewart School. Harvest Festival plans are coming along. Craft vendors are starting to sign up. Please think about ways in which you can volunteer for the Festival, which is the main fund raiser of the year. We could use someone to coordinate parking, and we will need hosts for the historical buildings. Also, folks to sell apple butter and other items.  Our next member meeting will be Monday, June 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at Stow City Hall. Speaker will be Denny Reiser

Stow Historical Society Board members John Baranek, Howard Corathers, John and Beth Daugherty, Bob Flower, Marcia Gilmore, and Jacinda Warman meet Monday, May 11 at Stow CIty Hall.  Board members heard an update of the Stewart School project. Interior work days will take place under project director, Bob Flower, If interested in participating please contact him at 330-688-5888. Hower House, located at 60 Fir Hill, Akron (University of Akron Campus) is offering  members of Stow Historical Society admission at No Cost during 2015 by showing your SHS membership card.. If you are interested in picking up your membership card, please contact President John Baranek at 330-689-2852. We plan to have membership cards available at the next member meeting, which will be June 22nd. We are seeking new board members for 2016. Please contact John Baranek if you are interested in applying.
